  • And no, I didn't get mine through the hospital- I got mine through a medical supplies store (like Binson's or Wright & Fillipis, or your hospital may have their own).

    Also,

you will need to check with these stores which insurance they accept- I went to Binson's first and they did not.  But they were able to give me a list of other local stores, I called and found

  • Call your insurance and ask them if they cover it. I have Aetna and they will only cover one if you have a premie and need to pump and bring in milk. Once the baby is discharged, they stop paying for it. Most Durable Medical Equipment is covered 100% by my insurance, but my insurance does not consider it DME.

I know some people have co-pays. Knowing my insurance wouldnt cover one, I took advantage of the target deal.

  • I would definitely suggest contacting your insurance company as every insurance plan is different.

For my insurance, we can purchase whichever pump we want and we can get reimbursed for part of the cost up to either $50 or $100 (I forget which one...although I bet it is on the smaller side). The catch is that while we can purchase the pump before the baby is born, we cannot put the claim into the insurance company until after she arrives.

  • Not sure. I just called my insurance company and they do not. I would call and ask the customer service dept for your health insurance. Good luck!!
