My DH and I are of Indian origin but grew up here in the US and aren't too crazy about Indian boys' names. We're looking for a "crossover" type name- something sort of fusiony, but we've had a really hard time thinking of something we both love. After lots of debating, we've narrowed our list down to:
Ronan
or
Kieran
They're both actually Irish names, but are really close to Indian names. We're leaning toward Ronan because my husband thinks Kieran sounds sort of feminine, but Kieran seems to be more popular overall. What do you all think? Any other ideas for us?
TIA!
Re: Need advice on boy's name
Ronan
I'd go with Ronan. It seems less obviously Irish and it would be a little strange to see an Indian boy with the name Kieran IMO. Ronan is a nice name, too.
As for suggestions... I'm looking through this list to find similar/Americany names: https://www.behindthename.com/nmc/ind_m.php
Omar, Aaron, Barrett, Bijay and Vijay always sounded like initially nicknames to me like B.J. and V.J., Chandler, Devin, Jay, Kevin, (I can see why you had Kieran on your list), Michael, Omar, Orrin, Orion, Ryan,
