UO Thursday

I think Thank you notes are stupid. I think a verbal 'thank you' is more than enough. My Grandmother could tell you every gift she ever got for someone that she didn't get a thank you note for- and I think that completely ruins the whole point of buying someone a gift. Why buy something for someone if you expect something in return? I've gotten friends things for weddings and babies and not gotten thank you notes back and it honestly doesn't bother me at all.

I'm sure this is unpopular and people think I'm tacky for thinking so but whatever. I've always made it a point at my showers and such to personally thank each person for their gifts and I normally tell them why I like it so much. And I've also even told people after the fact how we've used it and stuff. That would be better, for me, than a note I'll just read and throw away anyway.

I agree. I think a verbal thank you is actually more personal and meaningful than a note that you know someone dreaded writing.

I don't know if I have an OU this week. I'll have to think on it.

no I agree with you!! I think it is a waste of paper and a stamp. If I thanked you in person then why do I need to thank you again? Plus I hate writing them, Everyone says the same thing with the gift part changed.

    Yes, please!

My UO - I think people are a little ridiculous with all of their baby 'rules'...not taking your child outside because it's below 60 degrees, not taking your child to the store or mall because of germs (I'm not talking about anyone touching or holding the baby, I mean putting them in a stroller or car seat and getting out of the house,) being overly militant with the hand sanitizer, etc. are all ridiculous IMO.

Thank you notes are stupid. Waste of time and money. I told everyone that came to my baby shower, "thanks!!" I have my thank you cards written out, just never got around to sending them, and I don't think I am. Stamps are effin expensive. If people have a problem with not receiving a thank you, well to bad. If they want it that bad, pay for my stamps.

Amen to that. I'm surprised they don't sell baby bubbles for the germ freaks out there.

And here is a chubby cheek pic until I can take a double chin pic. Haha

  • I think changing LO everyday is a waste.  Esp. 2 outfits - day & nightie.  P just stays in her onsie & sleeper 2-3 days, unless she craps on it.  She is not a fan of getting her clothes changed anyway, it works for everyone.

Yep! Annelise is in the same outfit she wore yesterday and she couldn't care less.

My UO: I don't think babies are cute! I think they look sticky and strange. For the most part, when someone flings a baby under six months at me, I'm smiling on the outside and cringing on the inside. -I know, I know... I'm a horrible person.

  • My UO... I'm not really into "babies." I was never the one who went around telling DH "I want a baby." I'm much more into toddler's and little kids. My niece is 7 and we have a blast. My nephew is 2 and he rocks. My baby is almost 4 weeks and I am confused and sometimes bored by him. What is there to do? He doesn't like toys... he just likes my boobs. I am so excited for when he is 2 and we can ride the flume together at HersheyPark and go make snow angels.

That made me literally laugh out loud! Which then made me have to explain to DH what I was laughing at...to which he responded "what the hell is wrong with you people? snatching people's babies? did she say he was a tasty nugget?! You and your crazy internet friends! You scare me!"

    hahahaha oh silly dh!
