tips, tricks , or advice please

I don't know what to do. We have her on the amoxicilin (sp?) for the uti thing and the caffeine for the apnea. I don't know if the uti thing is getting bad and the meds aren't working or if this is a caffeine side effect. It seems she still has discomfort from the uti thing but her poor  butt i so red from the runs from the meds. She screams bloody murder w/the desitin so when the stores open i will try something else . any suggestions? she just keeps crying now. dh took her so i could have a break. i nurse her to calm her but sometimes that isn't even working. i just had to spaz out here a bit and any tips would appreciated.

    I don't have much advice except to maybe give her some naked time - put down a few towels and let her "get some air" and maybe try budreaux's butt paste, my mom runs a daycare and swears by that stuff.

    I like A&D ointment. I would also say some tummy time while naked. I hope she feels better soon!

    I'd say a naked baby as much as possible and I second butt paste!

    Probiotics!!!  Ava is on amox too for an ear infection, and the day I started giving her pro-b's her poops went back to normal.

    Just get those little cartons of yogurt that are marked "live cultures" preferably from Whole Foods, etc. and I've been giving her about 1/2 container split between to meals, and voila... nice poops.

    I also give her a little extra banana (hhmm.. how old is baby, sorry, forgot to look) to firm things up.
