Parenting after 35

What has your baby/toddler eaten today?

My little piggy has so far eaten 1 Wheetabix, softened with 1/4 cup of milk; 1/4 cup of blackberries, 1.5 slices of WW toast, 1 banana, 1/4 cup of tortellini.

When he wakes up from his nap I'll give him half an apple, another slice of toast or an English muffin and a yogurt.

Don't know about dinner since we're going out.

He also gets through several sippies of milk and water throughout the day.

So yeah, he loves his fruit, veggies and carbs. What's your LO eating?

  • Wow, go Mikey, that's a lot of food!  For breakfast S ate part of a slice of peanut butter toast, 1/2 banana, and part of a Nutrigrain bar plus 8 oz of milk.  And he sucked down a pouch of peach puree on the drive to daycare.  No clue what he's eating at daycare but it's usually something like broccoli and pasta for lunch and cheese, yogurt, crackers and fruit at snacktime.  And for dinner he'll throw the tri tip I'm cooking in the crockpot now all over the floor so I will probably grill him some salmon so he gets protein.  He doesn't eat much for dinner on daycare days because she feeds them their snack at 4:00.

  • Margaux is a little off her game today, these molars really need to finish coming in soon.

    Hm

homemade applesauce mixed with oat cereal, one little bowl of it; a banana; 1 piece cinnamon raisin toast with a little peanut butter; and she fell sleep on a bean, meat and cheese burrito in a flour tortilla, with guacamole for dipping and tangerine slices.  When she wakes up, she'll finish that.  Later I'll give her a scrambled egg, and tonight is homemade hamburgers again, plus mixed veggies.

I guess that's why Mikey's a piggy. He wakes from his nap and snacks anywhere from 4-5, and he STILL eats a good sized dinner. Usually. He didn't eat much yesterday.

Really!  I didn't realize how sleepy she was, but I gave her her burrito, made mine, and turned back around to see her nodding off with a little guacamole on her face.

  • Today he ate eggs and cereal for breakfast, chicken nuggets, cheese and yogurt for lunch and tonight he'll probably get a jar of baby food b/c I'm too tired to cook something. Last night he ate a stew that DH made, which had spinach and chicken, it was very healthy. We usually cook things that he can eat as well, especially for dinner, since that's his main meal of the day. I usually try to end his supper with fruit (grapes, oranges or bananas).

He mostly eats what we eat, unless it's too spicy, sour or salty. We all try to eat healthy. When he goes to daycare (twice a week), he comes back really hyper, and I think it's b/c they give him sweets, like cupcakes. I have to talk to them about that b/c we don't give him too many sweet things at home, I don't want him to start favoring sweets over healthy food. I know it will happen eventually but I'm delaying the inevitable for now :p

  • 545- 7oz whole milk

830- blueberry muffin, bananas, sausage & milk

1230- cheesy beef, green beans, bananas, milk

    230- saltine crackers, jelly, milk

445- 2 chicken nuggets, peas, water

    645- 7oz whole milk

breakfast, lunch, snack is at daycare. milk is served in a sippy so she doesn't drink a whole lot- hence the 7 ounces in the am and pm (bottle- i know i'm bad). she eats a lot and really well for having only two bottom teeth (and two front top about 1/4 way out!)

  • OMG... my child is starving to death.  He's never eaten that much!!!  And I thought today he ate pretty good!

7am--most of a piece of ww toast with cinnamon, a couple of bites of oatmeal and two ounces of watered down apple juice, a couple of craisins and a couple of cheerios

    8am--6 oz milk

12pm-about 2-3 ounces of broccoli carrot cheese puree and a few unsalted french fries and a few more craisins and goldfish crackers.  A bite of fig newton.

    2pm--6 oz milk

5pm-a small slice of jack cheese, a small slice of salami, the insides of 5 chicken nuggets and about an ounce of squash puree.

7pm--he'll get another 6 oz of milk before bedtime

  • Breakfast-- 1 waffle with peanut butter, half a pear, cow's milk

Lunch-- dried peaches and strawberries, chicken, a piece of spanakopita, cow's milk and water

Dinner-- Modified white bean chicken chili (hers was spicy but not hot), cheese and cow's milk

    Snacks-- cheerios, a banana

She also still nurses about 5 times a day. She drinks about 3 ounces of cow's milk at a time and the pediatrician wants her to have about 9 ounces a day, since we are still nursing.

  • Oh, and I must add that Adrian also gets 24oz of whole milk a day, plus water or water diluted with juice. I usually feed him every 3 hrs or so, 3 square meals plus 2 snacks in between.
