Silly newbie ? re: fitteds and cute patterns

We plan to CD exclusively and I'm doing all my research now.  That said, I will probably use PF and covers for the newborn stage.  After that, I'd like to look into fitteds.

I lurk here quite often and have noticed how popular GM are, as well as other patterned fitteds.  The patterns are super cute.  However, don't you use a cover with these?  Or can you use fitteds without a cover?  I'm not sure how I'll be able to share these cute prints with the world if they are under a PUL.

Please explain.  Thanks!

    Out and about you use a cover. In the house most girls will let LOs go coverless and just feel the bum frequently to see if its damp. They are super cute so I get what you mean, but theyre still a great diaper. I like to use them around the house bc it lets the bum breathe a little more. HTH

    Someone on here once said its just like us wearing pretty bra and underwear. Its there for us (and maybe your DH haha)!

    We'd be using fitteds anyway (personal preference) so it's just a bonus that they come in cute prints, even if I never see them.  :)
