I downloaded the developmental questionnaire for DD's 4 month appointment on Friday and it asks if she's laughing. She's not, she gets excited and smiles big and blows raspberries and coos but no laughing. She acts like she's laughing but no sound comes out. I know I'm not supposed to worry but I can't stand checking "no" on that questionnaire. She's also not really babbling, she's done it a couple times but I can count them on one hand. Anyone else?
Edited title for poor grammar.
Re: Whose LO's still aren't laughing?
DD does the same thing. she seems like she wants to laugh but no noise comes out!! She has a huge smile and air comes out of her mouth, but no laugh!!
DD coos, but no consonants. just oo, aa, ee's. I am not too worried, because my son never even did this as a baby!! so she is way ahead of him. I babble to her, and say mamama, dadada, papapa. She smiles, and tried to laugh, but nothing. I think it is pretty funny and laugh at her.
This and she will only laugh at specific things; e.g. bouncing or singing.
Don't know why she laughs at our singing ...
I hate marking no for stuff too. But do realize each LO will do things at different times. I see tons of people using the bumbo, but DS is not ready for it. But he laughs like a fool all the time.
Silly, he started out laughing with no sound, so maybe that is what she is doing.

For some unknown reason my singing totally calms her down, I can't understand because I'm HORRIBLE.
I've only gotten a few laughs within the past couple weeks and I have to try really hard- apparently I'm not as funny as I thought I was.
They do "talk" alot.. but mostly to each other!
