Parenting after 35

Thank you so much for the support

Ladies - I can't tell you how much your kind words about the loss of my dog Molly have meant to me.

I am devastated but I hope each day gets easier.

I am devastated but I hope each day gets easier.

It will, the first couple weeks are the hardest but we have all been there and it really does get easier even though it doesn't seem possible now.  Getting out of the house as much as you can really helps a lot so you don't notice the silence at home.  Also bagging up all her stuff (bed, toys, food) and donating them to the shelter helps.  And staying off Petfinder! Wink  Hang in there...focus on your second baby now and just know that your first baby is running, hiking swimming and chasing critters in doggy heaven...hugs! Right HugLeft Hug  (Also here's a good resource for helping to deal with the loss: https://www.petloss.com/  )

  • We're here for you, girl! I only hope you guys are doing a bit better over the loss of your sweet girl.

And I love your pic of Molly and Matt, although it must be terribly bittersweet for you to look at it.

  • Molly had a wonderful family!

I am picturing her enjoying her after life with lots of doggy treats, tennis balls and long walks. Left Hug

  • I'm so sorry and I know it's so hard. It does get better with time. I think it's always bitter sweet, but it gets to be more sweet than bitter, KWIM?

I do love your sweet siggy pics of Matt and Molly.

  • I haven't been around much and missed your prior post but I really wanted to say I'm so sorry and it will get easier.  I lost my two cats that I'd had since the month I finished college within a few months of each other, right around the time DD was born.  It was so incredibly hard to get used to their absence and I admit I still think of them and have to fight back tears every so often.  But as PP said, it is really more sweet than bitter now and mostly I enjoy remembering all the wonderful times I had with them and cherishing the many years we had together.  I hope you are able to soon think back with love and happiness rather than the sadness of her loss.

  • We love you, Amy!

Molly had a great life, and was clearly well-loved.  That's the best any of us can hope to achieve!
