Success after IF

1st hair cut

How old was your lo when they had their first hair cut? D's hair is still pretty fine and thin, but he has a patch of hair that is thicker on top (I call it a faux hawk). I heard somewhere that once you cut the hair, it starts to grow in better? Is this true? He doesn't need it cut, I am just wondering if I should get it cut just to even it all out?
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Nicholas was almost 9 months when I got his cut.

  • Sophie got her first haircut at about 9 months, and she's had 2 more since. Her hair grows superfast, and is super thick. I don't think cutting it the first time made it grow any better, though.

  • K didn't have enough hair to really warrant a hair cut, but it was growing funny on the sides (really long) so we took her two weeks ago and got it cut. She hated it, but I'm hoping it grows better now that it's been trimmed.
  • Preston was 12 months, Jordana really hasn't had a haircut yet but a little trim to clean it up at 24 months, and Brady had his at 5 months!

  • i chopped away at Jones' hair the other day...just to get rid of the stuff on top that was literally like 3 inches longer than the rest..it had been driving me nuts!!

I think he will be ready for a real haircut in another month or so..luckily MIL is a stylist! :)

  • My daughter is 2 and a half and has not had a hair cut yet... poor girl...hoping her hair grows more someday :)

ps... I have been told it is a myth that if you cut it it will grow in better.

  • We cut it at 4 months although we could have done it at 2-3 months as well.  DS was born with a ton of hair and we are trimming it once a month right now.
