So my mom has her mind set on doing a large family photo this summer when we go home for a grad party (she thinks its a great idea to do it AT the grad party as that's when everyone will be there). We're talking about 26ish people. My mom was trying to convince me to "coordinate" clothes which I think is just a train wreck waiting to happen. She even suggested "each individual little family have a color" - I said NO!
That said, shouldn't there be SOME requirements (no text on shirts, no tank tops, no tennis shoes with shorts, etc)?
Just as a warning, we're dealing with very hick-ish midwestern types who think its funny to wear fake "Bubba Teeth" in professional photos to screw them up. When I say requirements - they have to be pretty specific because my stepdad buys brand new Tshirts and immediately cuts the arms off....
Thoughts?
Re: LARGE family photos....What is best to wear? (come in photogs!)
26 PEOPLE??? I highly doubt you will get everyone to coordinate!
We did a family picture with 6 adults and 4 kids and we all wore white shirts and jeans!
waste of time, IMO.
The only way I can see it working with 26 people is if they are all paying a high-end photog a ton of money to make them look their very best. Bubba-teeth wearing folk ain't gonna be shooting for that.
I would however ask that no one wear white shirts if you're shooting outdoors, it'll get blown out and not look right. If she insists on some sort of continuity, you could say "earth tones and jeans" or tans & jewel tones or something, but honestly, all it takes is for a couple of people to forget, and throw the whole shot off.
and hello? is this in MN??? ;-)
Uhhhh YEA! But its in Saint Cloud - I didn't think you'd want to travel for my insane family LOL
