Trying to get LO to fall asleep on his own

Is hell. I absolutely HATE sleep training and am hugely frustrated that my baby is a non-sleeper.

Re: Trying to get LO to fall asleep on his own

  • Have patience.  DH stayed in the room with him when he cried most of the time.  Within a week our lives had been transformed.

  • Yeah, we are re-sleep training so I know it works, but it is awful.
  • What methods have you tried?  I know you mentioned Ferber before but I don't know if you stuck with it.  I think no matter what you do, you need 110% consistence.  If you want him to fall asleep on his own, do not give him any other option.  If he's starting to fall asleep in your arms, put him down - it might take 100 tries but you just need to be more stubborn than him.

  • We do Ferber but got messed up with sickness and ear infections. Literally one night off schedule and he goes back to waking four or five times a night. So frustrating.
