I have been putting off telling you all the complete truth about Cycle 10. While it's true that I am waiting for my bloodwork results from my RE, and I will update this thread with those results when I get them (now updated! See below!), the truth is that I started testing on Saturday, when AF was 2 days late. I got a positive on an IC:
I tested again with an FRER, and it was positive too. (I left out the photo, because really, how many of my BFP pics do you need?) This AM, just for shiits and giggles, I tested with a digital:
I am deeply in the debt of many of the women here (and graduates!). Without you, I would not have started charting in my second cycle TTC. I would not have known that my LP was probably not long enough to sustain pregnancy. I would not have known that I needed to be monitored on Clomid, and I would not have refused my OBGYN's suggestion of Clomid very early on. I am confident that, without you lovely ladies, I would not be pregnant.
Symptoms: My boobs hurt even more than usual. And my period never came. That was the big one. I didn't test until I was 2 days late.
What I did differently: Under the supervision of my RE, and despite the fact that I was ovulating on my own, this was my first cycle of Clomid and Prometrium. Whether it was the Clomid giving us a stronger egg (or 2 - I had 2 mature follies at my CD11 u/s) or the Prometrium making my ute a better place for egg and sperm to hang out, this relatively small intervention was apparently all we needed.
Another item of note: My RE recommended FSH and Ovidrel in addition to Clomid and Prometrium for this cycle. DH and I discussed it and agreed that we wanted to see what Clomid and Prometrium alone did for us. We figured that, since I was already ovulating, and I'd never been on Clomid before, we didn't know how I'd respond to Clomid and whether that little push would be all we needed. We didn't want to take more meds than necessary. I am so thankful that we overrode the RE on this one. I have no issue with women listening to their doctors, but doctors - even smart specialists - are eager to throw every pharmaceutical out there at women, and it's not always necessary. We'll never know whether we'd have gotten KU with the additional meds, but I'm so thankful that we won't have to find out.
Finally I need to thank the DC GTG girls. I spilled the beans to them on Saturday night, and they have diligently kept my secret until now, even wishing me luck in repen's thread when they already knew the outcome. You all are in my heart, forever.
I will be lurking here, praying for good news for all of you, and possibly chiming in here and there if I think I can be helpful.
I can't tell you how valuable you all have been to me in this process. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. May all of you join me as soon as possible. Thank you, really.
ETA: I know some of you like to see when we did it, and my chart doesn't show that. So FYI: we did it on CD 11, 13, and 14, and I O'ed on CD13.
ETA #2: I just got the call - HCG= 636. Wow, this is really happening.
Re: Me, procrastinate? Never! (Updated!)

Congrats!!! That's fantastic!!
And thank you so much for sharing in great detail your story. It's good to hear how people's ttc journeys end in success, and also it's great to hear of positive outcomes from going with your gut instinct to make those hard decisions, especially when you go against the medical advice. So happy it all worked out for you!
happy and healthy 9 months!!
