3rd Trimester

cheese and rice- ughh im here for now!

im misserable! no lie.

well when i went in to my appointment last wednesday the 12th i was told i was 1cm with a thick hard cervix and that baby was still transverse so i needed to work on getting him to turn but that it wasnt really a bad thing that he hadnt turned yet because it was prob keeping me from dialating even more with all the contractions iv been having.

well sure enough when i went in wed the 19th baby was head down and i was 3cm, 70% and babys head is RIGHT THERE. my midwife put me on strict bedrest (only get up if you have to pee) till friday (the 21st) so i would atleast make it till 35 weeks and then said take it easy after that until im 37 weeks but she honestly doesnt think there is any way ill make it till then!

bedrest was HORRIBLE! i only had to do it for 2 days and thought i was gonna shoot myself. i got alot done this weekend to get ready for baby. TONS of laundry and honey do's.

im back at work today and i honestly dont think ill make it all day. my hips, tailbone and back hurt so bad im on the verge of tears and my head hurts so bad i cant see straight.

i seriously feel so much pressure since he has turned that i feel like he is gonna fall out if i stand too quickly.

ughhhh i never felt this with DS. what gives?

  • That sucks! At least your making progress though. I don't think I've made any. I'm 38 weeks and I don't think I've effaced at all. I didn't even ask her to check last week because I didn't want to be disappointed.

Hopefully you don't have to work like this much longer.

honestly it wouldnt hurt my feelings to go ahead and quit since im not planning to come back (they dont know that though) but if i quit then i have to say bye to my insurance and then im screwed!

  • I'm sorry boo!  Make yourself feel better by eating something fabulous for lunch.  I will drink - you eat.

  • Can your doctor write you out of work now on disability, or can you start your maternity leave early? If she told you to take it easy, tell her how you feel now that you're at work and that it's just too much.

I worked until 39 weeks when I was pregnant with my DS, but working until 34 weeks was torture this time. I quit working about a week ago and I feel so much better -- most of the aches and pains have gone away, and I have a LOT fewer contractions. I'm also feeling better that at least some of the baby stuff is washed and ready to go now, my hospital bag is packed, and I'm slowly making progress getting other things ready for bringing home a newborn.
