Re: NBR Just some of my projects (pip)

  • I've always wanted to sew. Unfortunately, I did so badly in the sewing part of home ec. that I knew it was not meant to be.
These quilts are so cute. I love Teagan's Candyland one!

  • Do you ever sell your quilts? They rock. I had been wanting a memory one, too. When my Mom and I would take trips when i lived at home I would always get t-shirts, but I never wore them. They just all ended up in containers. I always wanted something to do with them. Unfortunately, I think I ended up giving most of them away to Dh sisters to just wear around the house.

  • Your mom is going to love her quilt and Teagan's is adorable. Nice work!

It's so funny you posted this because I was coming here to post that I JUST got back from some ME TIME - my very first *real* quilting class. I have done little projects over the years, but this is my first class. It's one of those "quilt of the month" classes so you wind up with 12 seasonal wall hangings. I am excited to finish this one up after the baby gets up from her nap. I'll post a pip when I am done with the top. :)

Yes, I have sold a couple. They paid me to make the t-shirt one above.  They gave me all her shirts and I added the rest. I have made memory quilts for several years now for the Softball Booster Club Presidents as thank you gifts. My next project is a onesie memory quilt from T's First year.  Thanks!

I can't wait to see your quilt top. Glad you are getting some "me time"  Quilting is relaxing to me.  I've always wanted to take a class but never seem to be able to fit it in. I look for tuturials on line.  I drive my family crazy by DVRing quilting/sewing shows but I learn a lot from them.  A trick I tried this week was glue baste binding. It worked great and was easy..

    Have fun!

  • Great job! I can't sew at all despite my mom's best efforts.
  • Nice job! I can't sew, either, but my cousin makes some awesome quilts. She belonged to a quilting group for years before they moved. One year they donated some small quilts to the infants at their local hospital. She made Victor a really nice giraffe one for his birth and even used a scrap of the same material on a onsie. Super gifts. Keep up the good work! Smile

  • I can make clothes but I have never made a quilt (yet.)  DH has tee-shirts from all the rock concerts he has gone to and I have been planning to make him a quilt of them for about 15 years.

  • I so envy you - these quilts are just beautiful!
