CD1, Moving to IUI, and a WWYD?

Morning ladies.  It's another CD 1.  I sent my Dr a message this morning that I am ready to move on to IUI.  My question for those of you doing Clomid + IUI and responding well to the Clomid - what CD does your IUI usually occur?  In my past 2 medicated cycles I was given a trigger shot on CD15.  I'm a little nervous about the timing this round because DH will be out of town CD11-15 for work.  I just don't want to go through all the med side effects etc only to miss our chance because he's not here, but I also don't want to sit out another month.  What would you do??

ETA: I normally take Clomid CD5-9.


Diagnosed PCOS 2/07, TTC #1 since 8/09
11/10 - Clomid Round 1 = BFN
12/10 - Clomid Round 2 = BFN
1/11 - Voluntary Break = BFN (duh)
2/11 - Clomid Round 3 = BFN
3/11 - Femara + IUI = BFP * Beta#1=56 * Beta#2=266

    Did you ask the doc about putting some sperm on ice in case your hubby is out of town?

    I wasn't sure if that was an option - is that something that you have done?  I will definatley ask about it if she doesn't suggest it.

    You usually o 7 days after the last pill so could you start it on cd 5 instead of 3?

    I took clomid cd 4-8, and triggered on cd12 with two mature follies. IUI was cd13.

    I've never o'd without a trigger.  I have only taken clomid on days 5-9, with trigger at the monitoring apt on CD15 or 16. 

    Also, tst1998 - sh*t, but thank you for letting me know that :)

    Well I only have 1 experience- I took Clomid CD 2-6, went in for a follie check on CD 7 and then again on CD 11. I O'd naturally on CD 14 with OPK and did back to back IUI on CD 15 and 16. I didn't do the trigger shot.

    First off I'm sorry to hear about CD1. :0(

    My first clomid cycle my IUI was on CD17 and my second was on CD16. The last three months before I started taking clomid I was ovulating around CD18. I really think everyone is different so it's hard to say. I would ask your doctor if you can freeze some of your DHs sperm just to be safe.

    Sorry about CD1. On my first clomid cycle I took clomid 4-8 and Trigger on CD 16 with IUI on CD 18. 2nd Clomid took clomid 3-7 and Trigger on CD 13 and IUI on CD 14 and 15. Good luck this cycle! I hope DH being out of town will not conflict. I would def check if DH can provide a sample for freezing just in case.

    I'm always afraid of this b/c DH has a crazy work schedule, but so far we have been lucky w/ the timing.  IUI#1, I triggered CD16 & IUI was CD17, IUI#2 I triggered on CD12 & IUI was CD13.  I did Clomid from day 5-9 both times.  Before Clomid, I used to O anywhere from day 23-30.

     Sorry about CD1 :(  I hope this cycle works out for you.

    Sorry about the CD1 :( This cycle I was on 50mg Clomid days 5-9. I went for an ultrasound and b/w on CD 15, follie was 18mm. Another u/s and b/w on CD 17 revealed the follicle was still there (23mm). b/w showed that I was surging though, so they told me I'd probably ovulate the next day (CD 18) and so i didnt need to trigger. My IUI was next morning on CD 18. If this cycle is a bust I'll ask if we need to be getting more than one follicle to maximize my chances. GL!

    Typically they do the IUI 36 hours after you trigger, or it's b2b IUI's then at 24 and 28 hours or 12 and 36.

    So if it's one IUI and you trigger in the evening of CD 15, then your IUI would most likely be the morning of CD 17. 

    Good luck - I hoep you can get it worked out for this cycle!!!

    Hey Mrs.Vo!

    I always took Clomid cd 5-9...I always did b2b iui's...the 1st iui was cd 13/14, the 2nd iui was cd 11/12, the last one was cd 15/16.  I'm not much help since I was never consistent!  I would freeze a sample just in case!
