first follie check. . . insight?

Hi ladies-

So, the nurse just called (the U/S tech is not allowed to tell us how many follies).  She said to keep my meds the same and that I have 10 measurable follies.  I go back for another u/s tomorrow).

The weird thing is that all 10 are on my left side - I don't have any on my right.  I know 10 is a good number for someone my age, so I'm not worried about it, more curious.  They both had follies last time.  Does anyone know why this happens?

Re: first follie check. . . insight?

  • That does seem odd that the follies are all on one side.  Maybe she got that wrong?  I would ask them to clarify when you go in next.  Good luck!  either way, looks like you are off to a great start!

  • 10 follies, way to go cycle buddy! It does seem odd to me they are all on one side but if they aren't concerned then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

  • Yay for 10 follies!  I wouldn't be too worried about anything at the first follie check anyway but I agree all on one side sounds weird and could be a mistake.

  • 10 follies is terrific!! I have no idea why they'd all be on one side...my guess is just that our bodies sometimes do random, inexplicable things! But at least your ovary is a great producer!

  • yay for 10 follies, cycle buddy!!!  That is a little surprising that they would all be on one side.  Maybe, like PPs have said, the nurse was mistaken about that!

  • no clue why but sometimes one ovary is more dominant than the other.

  • Thanks for all the good wishes ladies!

I told the u/s tech that my ovaries were hurting and she said, "is all the pain on one side?"  Now I know why she asked!  Maybe the other one will perk up for my u/s tomorrow.
