Doppler at 9 1/2 weeks

I am just curious whether anyone had their dr try to use the doppler between 9 and 10 weeks. And if so, were you able to hear the heartbeat?

I have had 2 ultrasounds and have been able to see the heartbeat but just curious whether we might be able to hear it at our next appt.

9.5 weeks would be REALLY early. My OB had trouble finding it at almost 11 weeks.

9w3d I went in for my second appt and my doctor found the heartbeat on doppler. I was thrilled!

My dr heard mine right away at 10w- so there is a chance you'll be able to hear it.

My MW heard it at my appt the other day, so at about 8.5 weeks.

She said if she didn't hear it, not to worry, but that she would want me to come back in two weeks to try again. But we heard it right away really faintly, and then she lost it, but then she found it again and we could hear it really well.

But I've heard of other MWs and OBs that won't even try that early. So I think it just depends on your dr.

When I was PG with DD#1, my OB found the HB at 10 wks. I have a home doppler and have been looking for this baby's HB at home, but have not been able to find it. I go to see my OB at 11 wks so I expect to hear it then.

We were able to hear at our first appointment last time at 8 1/2 weeks but obviously that doesn't happen all the time.

pretty early, but you could get lucky. my doc couldn't find it at nearly 10 weeks. thankfully we'd already had an u/s so it didn't concern me. i kind of pushed her though, because she said she usually doesn't even try until at least 10 1/2 or 11 weeks.

my MW had me make my appt week 10. She said she hasn't been able to hear a heart beat before that, so i assume there would be a chance she still might not be able to at my appt

My MW said that not finding something before 10wks isn't unusual and is easier in very slender women.

I just had an appointment on Tuesday and I was 9w2d. She was able to find the hb right away. It totally shocked me since my other pg's I never heard it before my 11 week appointment. So you never know, it really depends on the position of the baby,uterus, extra skin...as well as the patience of the doc to scan around and look for it.
