fert report :(
Just got the call from the embryologist.
Of the 12, 11 were mature. Of that 11, 7 fertilized. I was excited, because I thought that was pretty good, at 64% fertilization!
The incredibly insensitive assistant or whoever I talked to on the phone then told me not to get too excited because the eggs were "of extremely poor quality." They were out of shape, and vacillated (sp?) which means full of holes. This probably means that the embryos will be of poor quality too. I am completely freaking out. My hopes are completely dashed, and I haven't even had the ET yet.
To add insult to injury, it's my birthday. Worst. Present. Ever.

2nd: That was really rude of her to tell you that. Even with the eggs being like that, they should have waited to see how they are growing before commenting any further. Hang in there ! {{{hugs}}}

I am so sorry the assistant was a b*tch to you, I think sometimes these people forget that they are working with emotionally vulnerable people, I would mention it to your RE because that was pretty insensitive.
And Happy Birthday, I am so sorry that you are having a bad day. I hope that it gets better.

I am so sorry that the assistant was so insensitive. Try not to get negative yet, those embies could grow nice and strong. Please try to enjoy your birthday - you deserve it. Hopefully you will get a much better report in another day or two. ((hugs))

And about that stupid assistant, don't give up hope until you talk to your RE and keep that faith love. Sometimes they don't give the info clearly or tell you more than you need to know, which worries you. I have faith those little cells will recover and grow strong! I'm thinking of you always!
That was a really crappy thing to say to you. I think that's a great fert report and probably a little too early to make any assumptions about the quality of embryos you will have. When is your ET? I'm sending you lots of T&P's that your embryos prove that insensitive embryologist wrong!

Oh, mags, I'm sorry the quality wasn't what you were hoping for. I am going to keep hoping that those 7 embryos grow strong and healthy! I know it's practically impossible, but try to keep hope alive for the embies and wait until the next report. I am thinking of you and hoping your baby is among those 7! *hugs*

I think people should just keep their mouths shut if they are going to be a**holes. And until you know the story from the doctor, screw her. That's a great fert rate and we're pulling for you!

Second, that was rude of the assistant to talk to you in that manner. I agree with PP that if there are egg problems, it is something you should be told, but really I don't see how they can no the embryos will be of poor quality without giving them a couple of days. That being said, if they are sure there are problems, your RE should have called to talk to you and discuss what this means for your cycle. I'm so sorry you had to deal with someone so insensitive. I am sending T&Ps to your embies! Grow embies grow! Prove that insensitive lady wrong! Wishing you nothing but the best, magnolia_femme!

Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132. Lil is here!
TTC#2: Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.
IVF #4: BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #5: MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #6: (New RE): Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
FET#1: BFN
