I'm trying to enjoy the end of my last pregnancy. I realize this is the last LO I will have and I'd like to remember this time as being great but I'm struggling with that. Lol.
Braxton hicks have been around for me since 24 weeks and now that I'm almost 31 weeks, these are becoming increasingly painful. With my son, they weren't this bad. He was laying in my hips for the end of my pregnancy and I had gotten used to the constant hip and low back pain. With my daughter, she was a far easier pregnancy, stayed in position for a long time and the BH weren't as powerful as this one.
Now? I have to catch my breath, hold my belly, try to massage where it's pulling or hurting, get up to walk or go down another bottle of water. DH came home last night and saw me breathing hard with my eyes closed and holding the belly. "What's wrong?" I exhale hard and say "Nothing much. Just feeling like my skin is ripping apart." And any chance he gets he grins
"Can we go to the hospital yet?"
"No."
With Emma, the BH were what hurt worse than the real contractions. I was so used to the fake ones that hurt that I didn't realize when I was in labor. I hope I am better prepared this time...
Re: Braxton Hicks are kicking my butt...
This time they are really just starting now (last few days) but they are harder and more painful than with DD where they started at 21 weeks and slowly got bad. Now I can feel them coming on and they are already bad... ugh.
Aside from the BH, I feel pressure down into my vag and upper thighs, like I'm on my period. If I sit down for any period of time and then get up to walk, the throbbing pain in my thighs is more noticeable. I can feel pressure into my cervix like LO is low but not in the canal just yet. My OB keeps asking about the contractions and all I know to tell her is they are sporadic. It's kinda pointless to time these since I can't be sure they'll stay, be consistent, get harder, anything.
But when they come, oh boy, yeah I feel it. My OB says I might last another 5 weeks. Really? Are you kidding? I'd really like to not have another 36 week baby.
totally with you. i didn't have many with DS, i think b/c he was lower so I had more hip/back pain too...this one is riding high so when the contractions come I feel like there's nowhere for her to go and everything stretches so tight i think i'm going to rip open.
i just keep reminding myself it'll all be worth it.

I love these two beautiful children!
Exactly! I've had increased vaginal pressure for the past hour and it's just now letting up. I've been texting my SIL (NICU nurse) for advice and she said if I try the walking, peeing, drinking water and it doesn't let up to head in to the hospital and get checked out. I'm hoping these pains stay gone.
Of course, I thought that contractions meant just back pain. These are way low into my vagina and down my legs. Walking and leaning over doesn't help. I'd like to NOT have a baby today if that's possible.

Braxton Hicks are kicking my butt as well. Last night I was in tears and felt as if I was going to be split in two. I'm 35 weeks and can't wait for this little guy to be born. Good luck and God Speed...
