TMI ? about how you conceived

I am going to try and word this as best I can. My DH and I have done the deed a few times this cycle, but not to his completion. The last time we did it, I spotted for a day after and have had no bleeding since. I am maybe a week and a half, 2 weeks late for my period, so I took a test this morning, and got a sliver of a pregnant line very light. I really don't know what to think, if this is an evaporation line (I checked the test after about 4 minutes) or if I am actually pregnant. I want to be, not that we were trying, but I feel like maybe that is making me see more out of this tiny line than it actually is.

When we conceived DD, we tried every other day to his completion and were pregnant the first month. I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten pregnant from pre-ejaculate? TIA!

  • A line is a line (take it from an infertile).

I don't think an evap line would show up that soon.  The test would still be wet.

Call the doc and get a blood test.

  • Congrats! A line is a line.  If you are not using protection, you can absolutly get pregnant.  If you are really worried, I would get a digital and use tomorrow morning.

  • As long as you read the test within the given timeframe (usually 10 minutes), a line is a line.

As for your DH 'not completing,' it's likely that he still had some pre-ejaculate.  Remember how pulling out is not an effective method of BC?  Pre-ejaculate is why - there's still sperm in it.

    Congratulations!

  • Well, that's exactly how my first pregnancy test looked...the faintest little pink line.  I took a digital test (okay, several) the next morning for reassurance.  I was indeed pregnant.
  • I got pregnant while DH and I were being "careful."  As in, the old pull-out method that obviously doesn't work!  I'm guessing you are pregnant but try another test later or get a digital.

All of this!  I'll add that my BFF got pg with twins using the pullout method, then a third using the same "method."  Her hubby got a vasectomy after that... Wink

  • Thanks everyone! I am going to wait a couple days then get a digital, hopefully it will be a BFP!
