Posting on FB about potty

How do you feel about people updating their Facebook status on the topic of potty training their kids?  (ie, yay Sasha peed for the first time on the potty! or Soo frustrated, Isaac still poops in his diapers...)

 Yes or No

I realize it is a *huge* deal to most parents when they are achieving such a big milestone, but as an outsider...  it's a big No.  I am always just surprised at how many mommy friends I have who put this crap (ha ha) on their FB.  And with a surprising amount of detail.

  • Thumbs down....and a double thumbs down to FB in general.

  • I don't have a problem with a "She peed (or pooped) in the potty!  Yay!" type of post, the first time.  When they start posting every single time the kid pees, it's a problem.

Also, I do not need to know the size, color, or consistency of the substance that wound up in the toilet.

  • I'm not a fan of detailed posts about kids potty accomplishments, but I don't mind generic comments. For example: "Susie peed in the potty then pooped her diaper" is too much. But I'm okay with stuff like: "So excited Johnny is doing great potty training!"

  • I have to agree on this one! I have a lot of mommy friends who post, "Jack just pooped on the potty!" They even include graphic pictures of their kiddos on the can. haha I'm a mother, so it doesn't phase me all that much, but to a person without kids...it must be a little much!  When DS first went in the potty, I was so pumped. However, it's just not my style to post it on FB.

Completely agree.  In regards to FB in general, I don't need (or want!) a regular update on what is coming out either end, lol.

  • While potty training is an exciting accomplishment, I just don't think that it needs to be advertised on FB.  I guess I am trying to respect her privacy a bit.  Sure, I might talk to people IRL about it (grandparents, etc.), but I highly doubt my friends from middle school cared that she made a #2 on the potty!

  • Thumbs down.

I think it's tacky and unnecessary, although much of what is posted on FB falls into this category :).

  • My personal rule...if no one but you cares, don't post it.
  • I was so excited, but because of what people have expressed here - I really tried to put it in very PC terms.  I want to say I said something like:

"Adrian is doing really well with potty training today! YAY!"

No specific, "He pooped 3 times on the potty today" or whatever.

  • Big thumbs down to kid potty updates on FB

But I am not anti general kid updates on FB as I am guilty of it.
