Help! TMI but need help....

Ok, so I have been charting....not too bad.  Now my question is about collecting CM....usually I just wipe and see whats going on down there.  However, I was reading FF and they say to insert your two fingers in and scoop out. 

 Um.....how far should I go up? What am I looking for? I know, this is an embarrasing question and I should have had my OBGYN show me how to do this, but it slipped my mind, plus I thought I would have had a BFP this month. Oh well.

    id say far enough to strike gold?

    wouldn't it be same concept as picking your nose?: dig til you strike gold, and if it hurts dont do it

    Since you already are on FF, I would recommend checking out the charting lesson on cervical position and cm.  You're going to go up to the cervix, and while you're up there you can tell if it's low/high, hard/soft.  All kinds of fun interesting stuff you never thought you would be checking for.  Good luck, it does take a cycle or 2 to get it all figured out.

    I don't go in very far at all.  Maybe up to the first knuckle.  I do a few kegels prior to checking to kind of push the CM down.

    Haha, I've always wanted to ask the same question so I'm glad you did.  I've read all the "tutorials" but I wanted it in bump lingo. :)  So thanks for asking.

    Sometimes I squat in order to gather enough cm and/or check my cp. I rarely ever get enough on the tp to determine what I have. oh! and I do it in the shower. I think I'm going to try BabyTrippins technique this month with the kegels!

    Good luck with whatever technique you choose :)

    OP- usually I don't have to go in very far, and sometimes I'm able to just see it on the toilet paper.
