Seeking info- What to expect after IUD

Hello again!

It's been quite some time since I've been on the Bump but I am very excited to be coming back! I was wondering if anyone could share what their experience was with getting pregnant after having a Paragard IUD removed? I had one put in after DD was born almost 2 years ago and we're ready to give it another go but wasn't sure what to expect. All the stuff I've seen out there have been either horror stories or about the Mirena IUD with the hormones.  Would love to hear some personal accounts!

    I had the mirena IUD about 2-3 years. I also saw a lot of horror stories of the Mirena coming out, but ,my DH and I decided right after the wedding that I would get it out because we were ready to start trying. My doctor told me that I would be fertile right away but because prior to the IUD I had VERY irregular cycles I was a skeptic.I had cramping for about an hour after removal but then I was fine.

    I got it out on Oct. 13th, had a period Oct. 27th and got my BFP on Dec. 13. I went by my last period but my doctor said I was off. I was calculating a few weeks ahead of time (but that is just my body being irregulaur). I had no problem concieving and no problem with the removal. One thing I will comment is that on my most recent ultrasound the tech asked me if I had trouble getting pregnant because I had lots of follicles on my ovaries (from not ovulating). I told her I had the IUD and she said the follicles are normal in that case but also could have been a sign of something else and could have made it more difficult. I guess in my case they didnt play a part. Sorry this is long. Good luck!

    I had Mirena for one year. I loved it. I had no problems. I got it taken out In November 2. Had my first period Dec 24. BFP on Jan 12!!! Good Luck and I hope it happens as fast for you as it did for me. I wasn't really trying but I welcome my little blessing.

    I had my Paraguard IUD taken out in March of 2010. Just got a BFP this month. We were trying but not getting crazy about it so I guess it could've happened sooner.

    I had heavier periods though and sometimes my cycles were really long after I got it out.

    I had my Mirena removed in November and got my BFP in December!  Good luck!
