Is this the flu?

DS1 told me around 4p that he was cold.  He was 101 so I had him rest on the couch with some water and covered him with a blanket.  An hour later he was shivering and 103.8.  When I asked him if anything hurt, he said his "brain" LOL :)  

I have him Motrin and tried to give him a bath but he just started sobbing so I got him out... as I was drying his legs off he told me they hurt.  I think he is really achy.  He is sleeping now so I'm hoping he feels better in the am.  

There is a bad stomach bug going around here, but I kind of feel like if it was a stomach bug, he'd have started throwing up by now, right?  He didn't eat dinner but drank about 3 big sippy cups of water and had some pretzels.  

Think it's the flu?  If yes, how long does it usually last?  He had Swine Flu last year but that was a totally different bag.  Just crossing my fingers that the rest of us steer clear!

    Could be. The body aches usually go along with the flu. Hope he is feeling better soon.

    sounds possible. take him in in the am , they can take a nasal wash, test for it, and then start him on tamiflu if appropriate.

    Sounds like it could be. Jacob has it now. Had a fever yesterday and again this morning, lots of coughing and sneezing. He's got asthma and has been wheezing too. The pedi put him on Tamiflu. His eyes are all glassy and you can just tell he's miserable.
