Don't get me wrong, I spend at least an hour a day looking at idea sites and dreaming it up, but I don't even want to start really thinking about it until I at least know boy/girl. Maybe it's bc I don't want to get my hopes up too much for a girl. Plus I really don't feel like storing all the stuff yet, and we are converting the guest room into the nursery so we'd like to use that as long as we can as is.
And then I feel like I should "spruce up" DS's room, and that's where I stop and think I'm getting too much into this....
Re: Anyone NOT want to buy nursery stuff yet?
My friend you are not alone... I actually have both two things since our BFP... I also want to wait for the sex of the baby and then base anything on that... We are converting DS existing bedroom set back to a crib and buying him a new set, so I guess that is also holding us up... but just like you I spend I think atleast 1 hour clicking away on the web getting ideas, I even have gone far to copy and paste things I like into a word file, lol...
I'm not even planning on doing a nursery. I plan to keep the baby in our room at least 6 months, probably longer if he/she is anything like my son. Then, we think they'll just share a room (at least for a while and 'til my son is old enough to go downstairs, which will be in about 3 years). I'm thinking of doing a Dr. Seuss theme, because it is pretty gender-neutral and ages pretty well through childhood. That said though, I don't even plan on starting on this until well after the baby is here and likely around a year old.
We spent a fortune on my son's nursery that never got used! Not doing that again
LOL I have a whole folder devoted to this

I almost wrote a post about this topic this morning. I feel like I am the only one on here who hasn't bought a single baby item yet. Trust me, I am excited and can't wait (and I look at baby stuff online all the time), but the only thing I've bought is a bella band, which is technically for me.
We are going to wait until after the 19 week anatomy scan. Plus, with all the bleeding and spotting I have been having, I am still super nervous.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
We are waiting to find out the sex too. After the u/s, we're going to Target to do some purchasing and daydreaming!
As for nursery stuff, baby is going to room with us for at least 6 months. Our house is awaiting another addition and I'm not banking on it being completed before baby gets here. Sometimes I get sad thinking about not having a nursery, but then I realize that we're saving money now that can be used for decorating an insanely cute toddler room.
My Blogs -
We know we are moving in May, and we don't have a spare room in our current place, so I really can't deal with any big stuff just yet.
Me too
Although I am going to have to buy it before we move. My lease is up Aug. 1st and we are planning to get a new place July 1st (EDD 7/18), so we only have to pay rent at two places for one month. Just the thought about moving that close t EDD makes me nervous. So I guess we'll be storing all the stuff in our living room til we move!! Holding off as long as possible.
DH is a bargain shopper. He's one of those guys who won't buy anything at retail if he can help it. Even though we haven't made any baby purchases yet, it looks like we'll be ordering the crib tonight (JCP). Because it's a style we both agree on and it's on closeout.
I still don't know what our living situation will be in July. We currently rent a house, and our lease is up at the end of June. We can get out sooner if the Air Force gives us new orders (a good possibility). Otherwise we will either stay here until after LO is born or get a different place right before I'm due.
