open house question

For those that have been to preschool open houses, does anyone bring the kids? I"ve been missing out on so many because I dont really have anyone to babysit my girls during the day. There's one I was really counting on going to Wed morning, but my mom, who was going to watch the girls, now has a flu. I'm tempted to just bring them along and try to make it a brief stay. Has anyone done this? Thanks

    When I checked out DDs preschool I took her. I wanted to see how she liked the school too.

    I would call and ask the director/teacher about this. Many do not want kids there because they are doing presentations and it can be distracting. Some places might offer babysitting services during the open house.

    Thanks for the tips. I called and they said it was ok to bring them. I cant imagine my girls will sit still very long so I'll have to make it a short visit!

    At the open house for my DD"s Pre-K program which was held last week for people interested in next year, I know a lot of people brought the kids.  The open house was from 5:30-7:30 and the teachers were in the room and they just showed the parents around, talked about the program, had scrap books out, answered questions.  My friend who went didn't stay very long and she had her kids with her.  I never even went to the open house for the program last year - just stopped in at a different time to see the class in action.  Open Houses at my daycare center based preschool are set up for the current families to come along with people interested in the program and they have dinner and other activities planned. If you are not sure if its OK to bring the kids, I would just all the school in advance.
