I just don't have a huge appetite, and I do pretty well, and I try not to eat many junk foods anymore and have switched to whole wheat bread. I've gained some weight probably about 5-8lbs. I am also taking a complete prenatal vitamin approved by my doc and in addition a DHA supplement. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has trouble eating the daily recommended amounts of everything? It just seems like so much food, and my job frowns upon me eating at my desk so that's not really an option.

Re: Concerned about possibly not eating all I'm supposed to
I LOST weight during my first trimester, and baby's still on track.
Focus more on eating the proper foods and getting the right nutrients, instead of stressing yourself that you're not eating enough.

Yes I can drink, that's a good idea, I might have to get some of those.
This. You're one the early side yet. I went through this phase too and all I wanted was buttered noodles. I asked my dr. and he said in this day and age there's very few girls that don't eat enough while pregnant. It may be a rough start but the baby will take what it needs (so take your vitamins) and continue to eat well when you can.
I gained no weight in my first tri. I couldn't keep anything down until maybe Week 16. Now I eat the same amount of calories I did pre-pregnancy. I do not eat a balanced diet, as certain types of food are not appealing at all.
I do eat tons of fruit, take my vitamins and drink tons of water. I've gained 18 lbs at this point and started out on the thin side. I was concerned too, but now I'm doing just fine.
My appetite has been horrible. I am 19 weeks and since I lost 6 pounds at the beginning of my second tri, I have not changed weight. My doctor has not said anything to me about it yet, but may at my next appt if I have yet to go up. I eat when and what I can. I had no m/s my first tri, but have been sick my entire second tri. If we go out to eat, I am lucky if I am able to consume half of a kids meal and then am not hungry until the next meal, so not a lot of snacking. My doctor told me as long as I do the best I can and take my prenatals everything should be fine. Fruit is my go to at the moment. The smell of red meat makes me sick so no ground beef or steak for me. I do eat chicken, but I do best when it is bland.
I would say at this point you are fine.
I don't know if I've told you this yet but I work at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory so I smile every time I see your Caramel apple
Do the best you can and Im sure you'll be fine. Ive had severe morning sickness since about week 8 and went 3 almost 4 weeks without keeping ANY food down, I was only able to keep down IV liquids. I lost a total of 35 pounds but thankfully I had a little to spare but still with the proper medication Im able to keep down some food but not nearly enough, so i do what i can and my dr said that the baby is very strong and will be fine, not to worry about my intake of food as long as my fluid intake is good.
Do what you can and everything will be ok.. GL!
