at what age/point did you take it away for good? Lily only uses hers when she is tetthing really bad, when she's sleeping, and sometimes in the car. I feel like at this point it wouldn't be a big struggle to take it away for good because she isn't very attached to it. She does like to chew on it when she's teething though and hasn't gotten all of her molars in yet. Should I wait until she gets her bottom molars and then take it away or should I do it now since I don't think she'll really miss it? Any tips? TIA!
Re: If you took the paci away from LO already....
We did the exact same thing! At 26 months she was biting holes in nipple part, so she finally gave it to me and said "Momma, mimi broken!" Woo hoo.
We only used it at naptime and bedtime from about 15 months on. I took it away forever when he was 3 years old. I wish I'd done it before our second baby was born, but I didn't want him to lose the security when his brother was born.
If you don't think she'll miss it, I'd get rid of it. The paci won't reach back where the molars are unless she puts it in her mouth funny and she could chew holes in it. She could just as easily find another "lovey" if she needs it while other teeth come in.

He gave it up on his own at 22 months. He lost interest, I forgot to give it to him one afternoon for a nap, and he never asked about it again.
I know that's not typical, but him giving it up himself was sooo easy! So, if/when she loses interest, take advantage of it. GL!
