A gifty clicky poll (help me decide!)

So my SIL put this set on my nephew's birthday wishlist:

She is not opposed to plastic (obviously) BUT - it looks cheap and flimsy to me. Her son is a busy almost 3 year old and I see this not lasting the summer.

I would like to "upgrade" to a set that's more durable - and interior snob that I am I *really* like this set:

They're more expensive, but I *really* feel like what's on her list will break, and from what I've heard these will last through a few children (my nephew is oldest of two and one more is planned.)

    We actually have the one that was on the list, and it seems sturdy enough- and at least the light plastic can't do much damage!

    I wouldn't think that getting the ones you prefer would be any kind of deal, though.

    ok - that's good to know. I was just reading reviews and a few said that it cracked within the first few days of owning.

    I've got a couple of weeks, so I don't have to decide tonight. And maybe someone will show up with something even better.

    I LOVE the ones from Nova!  I would just get those and be done with it.  I agree with pp birthday wish lists are just idea givers.  Besides the Nova "toys" are more durable and realistic IMO

    I have the one on the list and DD likes it.  It is just fine.  However, I LOVE the one you like better.  You should get that one.  I also wouldn't worry about running it past her first...unless you really feel a need to.

    You need an option for "Just buy the set you like." I don't think you have to run it past her. You know she wants cleaning toys and you're buying her a quality set. :)
