TTC After a Loss

Soda?

So I've seen a lot of pp say they have given up soda while TTC.  What is the reason?  Is is the caffeine or the artificial sweeteners (in Diet soda)?  Is there a medical reason to stop drinking soda?  (I only drink caffeine free diet soda since I'm hypersensitive to caffeine - I love it but I'll give it up if it will help TTC)

Re: Soda?

  • I gave up soda a few years ago for health and diet reasons. I wanted to drink more water and drank nothing but water and milk for the longest time.

I recently started drinking soda again, but caffeine free soda.

Now I'm trying to drop the soda thing again.

  • I've heard a lot of people say for caffeine reasons.

I usually have one soda or one coffee a day personally.  It keeps my headaches away (caffeine works better for me than aspirin) and makes me feel sane in the morning.

  • I switched from diet to regular and only drink about 1-2 a week.  If I do have one it's usually for the carbonation not the caffeine, so I drink root beer or sunkist.  I'm not really too sure why I switched.  I guess I just drink a lot more water now.
  • I didn't switch, I'm a soda junkie...most just try to limit the amount of caffiene because they say you should have less than 300mg/day while pregnant.

  • I get a little weird about aspartame sometimes but if I have a whole can of diet soda (which I don't like regardless) it gives me a headache so its not really worth it. I do love me my dr pepper though... I only drink it 2x a week or so but... its so good. Moderation, right?

  • I drink soda very rarely. Just for health reasons, I like to stick with water and sometimes sports drinks.  Don't want to drink all my calories :)

  • I've saved tons of calories by cutting out sodas over the last year.  But mostly, I quit because my teeth are whiter without the soda.
  • I'm trying to not drink soda because of both the caffeine and the artificial sweetener.

  • I stopped drinking soda years ago. Mainly because I don't like regular soda as much as diet and the artificial sweeteners in diet are just not good for you.
