Middle Eastern Girl Names?

Hi! Our baby girl is due in 2 weeks and I'm not 100% sure about her name.  My husband loves the name "Ariana" but I'd prefer a Chaldean/Arabic name since he's Middle Eastern.  My name, Amanda, was the 2nd most popular name the year I was born so I'm looking for something more unique :)  Do you have any suggestions for Middle Eastern names that are easy for Americans to pronounce?  I love the name Layla but his cousin already used it!  Her middle name will be Miriam. TIA!

  • Yasmine!  It's gorgeous :)  I also like Zaida (a Persian girl I went to school with) and I'm just assuming it's got cultural roots.

  • I've met girls/women with the names: Amirah, Lina, Aminah, Maya, Zohra, Yasmine, Iman, Samirah, Farah, and Hanan.

My personal favorite is Hanan, but that doesn't flow with Miriam.  Good luck.

  • How about: Nadia, Raya, Rania, Rana, Selwa, Selma, Sawsen, Suheila, Saraya, Camila or Samaya? Good luck!
  • My pre-adoption given name was Parastoo; it means "bird." More Persian names I love: Padma, Azura, Farah, Haleh (could spell it Hallie, Americanized version),  and Mila. I also went to school with a girl named Fatimah, I believe that's Arabic? and it fit her beautifully. GL!
