I go in for my 39 weeks appointment on Monday and we have to talk about inducing because of borderline GD. Is there one doctor that you prefer to deliver with? Good/bad about any of them? Thanks!
I'm in a different situation than you are, but I'm hoping to be delivered by Dr. Brown. I'm attempting a VBAC (had a c-section at my last practice due to a failed induction, which I found out later, was completely unneccessary and shouldn't have been attempted - I was only 38 weeks). I specifically chose Loudoun Physicians because I had heard they were supporters of VBACs for good candidates.
What I have discovered is that there are some major limitations with a VBAC. You cannot be induced (fine by me), but if you do not deliver by your due date, they want to schedule a c-section. In my visits with the various doctors there, all except Dr. Brown have been very eager to go ahead and put me "on the books" for a second c-section, while Dr. Brown has said she has no problem letting me go to 41 weeks as long as I have no complications. I just get a much more relaxed feeling with her - she's a little older than the others, has done more deliveries, and by her own admission, is pretty amazed by the number of c-sections being done these days. Plus, she's giving me the answer I want, which is probably why she's my favorite.
Good luck! Please let me know how your delivery goes!
My favs are Dr. Allen and Dr. Mills. Dr. Allen delivered my baby and I had actually seen her before when she worked for Kaiser years ago. I love Dr. Mills though she is just a great listener and tries to do exactly what you want.
Have you tried acupuncture to help with inducing? My acupuncturist has helped several women go into labor naturally with out the help of unnecessary drugs.

I went to acupuncture through the first trimester and went again last week for the first time in a while to get things moving. Not a lot of progress, but I was only 37/38 weeks, but this week we're going to try to intensify it a little since I'm 38/39 weeks! Thanks!
