Lightweight stroller

What lightweight stroller do you have/are you getting?  I was deciding between the Chicco Liteway or Maclaren Triumph.  I was? just on BRU's site and I don't see the Maclaren Triumph, has it been discontinued?

Re: Lightweight stroller

  • I don't know about the ones you mentioned, but everyone raves about the Baby Jogger City Mini.

  • I haven't looked at the two you mentioned.  We are getting the BJ City Mini.  It has a one-handed quick fold and I can lift it with one hand.  It also works with our carseat, so it will be the only stroller we get.  It's rated great by both Baby Bargains and Consumer Reports.  Just an idea if you haven't checked it out.  (Yes, I may have gone nutzo on the research.)

For us, we were really considering the environment in our decision and wanted one stroller that would do it all, versus ending up with a few that, even after shared us, would end up in a landfill.

  • I just bought the Chicco Liteway this weekend. Of course, I have no idea if I'm going to like it yet, but we played with it in the store and stuff, and I think we will. It's super lightweight, and the detachable back-pack storage feature is kind of cool. I like the dual handles instead of the solid bar as well. Baby Bargins says it can be bad for tall people, but DH is 6"1' and he had no issues with it.

  • I got a Maclaren Quest at BRU... It was actually last season's model (it look *exactly* the same) so it was on clearance, and then we got an additional 30% off, so it ended up being less than $150.  I really like it... I have tried it out and made sure that I can work it, and it seems like it is pretty light without being too small to not have good features.

Also, I don't know why, but they don't have very many of the Maclaren strollers on the BRU website... I know that they have more in the store, at least at my local BRU there were lots more in the store.  So if you are close to a BRU, I would go in there and check it out...

Also, Combi makes a super-lightweight stroller if you want something smaller.  Good luck!
