I was a junior in high school. A music nerd who did all the singing groups and musicals! I was on aol as my parents got that. We got a separate phone line for dial up and I could use as a phone just for me when they weren't online!
I was 12 years old and in 6th Grade. I don't remember using the internet till I was in high school, when I got addicted to AOL instant messaging and chat rooms, lol! Until recently, I hadn't been in a chat room in a long time.
I was finishing up freshman year of college and deciding to transfer schools. I vaguely remember using the internet but obviously it wasn't very much since I don't recall.
I was 12 (turned 13 in August), and in 7th grade. I was programming the computers at school using BASIC. The following year, our school go computers that were using C programming, instead, so everything I learned about programming went out the window. Ce la vie.

I was a junior in high school. We didn't have the internet at our high school yet. I came from a small rural town in WI. In 1997 there was one computer that had internet on it. We had to be supervised and it was only for research. Apparently in 1998 the all the computers in the high school had internet.
Anyway, I didn't get addicted to message boards until 1999, when I was a sophomore in college. I had recently met DH and we chatted on AOL for hours. He lived in the dorm hall next to mine. Lol
Supposed to be graduating college but not. Had to stick it out one more year. In an apartment living like Three's Company but with 2 guys. Working part time in a tanning salon.
We had just really gotten internet, it was dial up, and I was super addicted.
I had already been married to my first husband a year, owned my own business, and was very active in my local theatre scene and in the SF rave scene. I was 24.
I was in grade 6! It felt like I would NEVER get to graduate and go to high school! I remember thinking about it and how far away it seemed. I also did a lot of chat room chatting with friends, pretending to be people we weren't. But the difference is, we were ELEVEN. We obviously wouldn't pull that shiz now

I would wipe that smile off of my face, but my arthritis is flaring up today.
