December 2010 Moms

meeting daddy; what to wear?

so my H will officially (unofficially?) be home in the next month!!  we don't know a date, but it's "supposed" to be beginning of February. woot!

now, I'm sure my H could care less what Ezra is wearing, but that's not stopping me from over-thinking it.  I just don't know...  part of me wants to find a cute camo baby outfit, part of me wants to do up a onesie with American flags and yellow ribbons, part of me thinks I should just dress him in a regular, cute outfit.

does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?  I really want something cute, but I can't afford to spend much..  I do have a basic level of craftiness, but sewing is out of the question.  I've looked and found lots of cute onesies on cafepress, but the smallest size they have is 6mo which E will still be swimming in.

ETA: I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I'm talking about what I should put Ezra in when we go to pick his daddy up when he gets back from his deployment...

Re: meeting daddy; what to wear?

  • Firstly, I am SO excited for you and Ezra. I can't wait to see the overwhelmingly joyful pictures from when he gets home!!

Like you said, I don't think it'll matter what he's wearing, but it would be adorable to have something with American flags/yellow ribbons like you mentioned or something like this...

It would be a great keepsake.

ooh! ooh! I vote for this one! You can sponge or hand paint the words and ribbon on there. It would be adorable!!

I get goosebumps everytime I see a reunion of a military family. Especially when daddy is meeting his LO for the first time. Can't wait to see your reunion pics!!

  • Have you ever used the iron on letters?  They're usually pretty cheap and easy to use, and you could make one of the ones above that OSC posted (which are super cute!).

Also, I am so thrilled for you to have your DH home.  Not to be cheesy or stalker-y, but I actually thought about you this morning b/c today was my first day home with LO alone and I thought about all the people like you who do this all the time!  So exciting!

I'm the exact same way!!  How exciting that Ezra and you get to great DH together!  This onesie I think would be PERFECT for that event.  If you can get it (or make it) in white and if you have or can find a pair of camo pants to go with it I think it would be adorable!!

Its from Cafe Press. Maybe  you could recreate the logo and put it on some iron on transfer paper?

Lots of cute ideas here! My vote something easy to take off. He is going to want to count those fingers and toes! I do not understand for the life of me why baby clothes have to have 35 buttons. Give us a break we've been living in pull up pants for the last 6 months.

Anyway I just want to say how happy I am for you that it is so close now. I know I can speak for the board in saying we all can't wait to hear about the homecoming and see pictures. I know quite a few of us will tear up myself included. I can't wait for you all to be together!

HAHAHAHA!!  that is amazing and so, so true.

and thanks everybody!  I've got some good ideas going on now!

  • I don't have any onesie advice, but I wanted to say that I am elated for you and your family!  I admire you and your husband and I am thankful for both of your sacrifices!  Thank you!
Proud Momma to two beautiful children!!!
