My LO is 5 months old, and I'm considering switching from sposies to cloth. His daycare will accept cloth, but only if they're AIOs. But if I pre-stuff pocket diapers, are they essentially the same as AIOs for daycare purposes? I don't think they care about the technicalities, as long as they get the diapers in one piece and they can put them on/take them off as easy as with disposables. Would it be a PITA for me later if they don't separate the pocket from the rest of the diaper when they throw it in a bag?
Re: Are pockets as easy for daycare as AIOs?
IMO yes, it's just as easy, as long as you aren't asking them to take the inserts out.
I don't think it will be that much of a PITA. DH refuses to do anything to our pockets when he takes them off DD, so I'm usually removing cold, wet inserts later. Slightly icky? yes. A PITA? No.
I told daycare I would be using AIOs, but that was before baby was born and I started my stash. I am going to give them pockets. I'm not going to ask, I will just show them the diapers before we start, and hope they are okay
My Thirsties pockets empty themselves in the wash. Not sure about my bumGenius 4.0s.
I give them to my sitter pre-stuffed and let her put them in the wetbag without taking out the insert. I then empty the bag at home and take out the insert then.
Same as AIO and they will never know the difference.
We do this as well with our BG 3.0s. Easy-peasy.
