Just got back from the NT screening and all is well with baby.
But: apparently my uterus is malformed. so i have to be monitored starting at 16 weeks to measure my cervix and make sure i'm not going into preterm labor. I think he said it was a Bicornuate uterus but I'm not sure. I'll have to ask my Dr. when I go in next week.
I could be totally fine, or I could go into preterm labor. And/or I may have a breech situation. Worst case it seems would be meds and/or bed rest.
So. That was my morning! Has anyone else been told they have an issue similar?
Re: Good NT -- but malformed ute? (us PIP)
Bicornuate uterus is most likely what you did hear. There are a couple of other types, but that one fits the monitoring you are going to have. Basically your uterus is heartshaped because it didn't fully come together while you were in the womb before the two halves fused. I don't have one myself, but I've seen several ladies on the bump with them so don't worry too much.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
ok yea, that must be it because that was how he described it -- he didnt say heart-shaped but he told me the ute didnt come completely together and ive had it since i was born.
i'm just not going to worry about it until there is something to worry about.
Thanks!
I had 2 losses last year and after multiple tests they thought that I had a bicornuate uterus, but it ended up being a septate uterus (which is a wall down the middle of the uterus) that they were able to remove. Luckily your doctor caught this and is able keep an eye on it. "Yahoo groups" has a great group for women with "mullerian anomalies" (bicornuate, unicornuate, septate, etc) if you want to learn more about it and/or hear from women in your situation. They are great! HTH.

So sorry for your losses -- and thanks! Hopefully it will be less scary than what I've been reading. I'm officially stepping away from the Goog.
What a great ultrasound picture! I, too, have a bicornate uterus that was discovered in an early ultrasound. The only thing my doctor is doing differently is seeing me more frequently (which I don't mind at all!). He said not to worry - women with a bicornate uterus have healthy babies all the time. If he's not going to be too worried....neither am I!
Good luck!
sounds like we're in the same boat! i'm not going to let myself worry until there is something to worry about.
