this morning when i droopped riley off at daycare, i was telling the teacher that she was pulling herself to standing all weekend (yay!) and "regular" crawling everywhere (she army crawled for weeks). she said "riley has more energy than any baby i know. she can entertain herself so well. i swear, she doesn't even care if there are adults in the room, she just wants to climb on everything with the other babies".
umm... what!?!?! at home, i can't leave her alone for more than 5 seconds without her crying. her idea of "having fun climbing" consists of her climbing up me. she is soooooooo clingy, and not independent at all. maybe i need to borrow an army of babies to keep her entertained at home. any other mommies of "high needs" babies ever get this feedback? i'm so surprised!!
Re: "are we talking about the same baby?!"
Trevor too. Although you may need ear plugs because this kid just likes to yell and screech all day.
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
She's capable of it because she has the other babies to play with. Riley doesn't play much on her own during the day either and I always say, who would want to? At home she always wants me with her, at moms group she could care less where I am as long as she's got babies to play with.
This. Plus, I'd think like others have said at daycare she has her little friends to occupy her and all that but I'm sure she misses her Mommy. So, when she's home she wants all the Mommy time she can get. (I hope that isn't offensive, I'm not trying to make you feel bad for having her in daycare. I really hope you don't take it that way.) I just think when she's home with you she's probably like "whoohoo mommy time!" Though that would probably go out the window if you did have other babies around because then she'd have her lil friends again and would be able to entertain herself that way too
