My doctor recommended waiting 3 full cycles before we are allowed to try again...anyone else? This seems like so long, because I was expecting a LO this summer, and now that means no LO until at least 2012!

Re: Is anyone else's Dr reccommending they wait to TTC?
I'm so sorry for your loss. My original doctor recommended 3 cycles for me as well. But I was very unhappy with the way that practice handled my loss, so I've since found a new doctor who recommends just waiting until AF comes back. She said that there is no increased risk for a second miscarriage (unless you have some kind of genetic predisposition), and that many doctors recommend waiting longer primarily to allow for emotional healing.
That being said, I don't know the details of your mc so please don't decide to ignore your doctor's advice based on any replies to this post. I had a natural mc so that could also be a factor in my doctor's advice. I've heard that if you have a D&C you need to wait longer because the procedure scrapes the lining of your uterus pretty thin, so to be able to sustain a pregnancy it needs some time to rebuild itself.
If you're unhappy with what your doctor recommended, give the office a call and ask why he wants you to wait so long. If he's not willing to explain it to you, maybe consider finding another doctor who is. Good luck!

All of this sounds like excellent advice.
I believe doctors stretch the time out because of emotional healing. You really need to be sure that you are ready to begin again. Calling the doctor sounds great, because if you are emotionally ready, the doctor may say that one cycle is enough. I had a natural miscarriage, and handled all of my discussions with my doctor pretty well, and she said that we could try again immediately. I think she really understood and saw that we had accepted that this was inevitable and that we couldn't have prevented it. Since she said we could try again so soon, I am thinking that there is no physcial danger in it. We do realize that it might not "take" the first time, but we are happy to try. Call your doctor and let us know what comes of it.
