Trying to Get Pregnant

Temp nosedive before O normal?? Help.

This is my first month charting so I'm still learning the ropes. I've read the tutorials and been going through the chart galleries just to familiarize myself and help me learn. Yesterday and today my temp took a huge nosedive. I normally temp at 545a every morning and go back to bed. This morning I forgot to set my alarm. So I wook up at like 1030a and temped before I got out of bed. Anyway, today I also woke up to a good amount of spotting, and I never spot. I was thinking maybe this weekend I will O, but usually by now my CM is starting to get watery. I have been taking OPK's since CD9 and today is almost positivie, so I'm thinking I may O tomorrow? I know that's a lot of random info... but does my chart indicate anything regarding Oing? Also, is that temp drop normal before O?

  • I get a dip - you can look at my charts. Happy humping!

  • A temp drop is normal before O. :) Just keep using your OPKs and temping, hopefully you'll see a rise over the next few days. Have fun!
  • If you did the tutorials throughly, you'd know that a dip before O is not only normal, but a good indicator (assuming you don't have a lot of anno cycles) that O is imminent.

I did the tutorials completely, but to me this seemed more like a 'dive' than a 'dip,' and along with the uncommon-to-me spotting I had this morning, I wasn't sure what was going on. However, I'm thinking that since I haven't had a post-O thermal shift, the scale of my chart is making the dip look more severe, once the shift occurs and my chart covers a bigger span of temps, it probably won't look so sharp.

  • Totally normal. Once you get some post-O temps, your chart will start making more sense. Good luck!
