I'm annoyed with my Dr. WWYD

Hi again, I've only posted a few times but I'm really annoyed right now and thought a WWYD post would be nice to confirm my frustrations - or the fact I am just irritable today.

DH and I moved to Chicago in August and got our first BFP in September.  We don't know many people in the city with kids...so I basically asked around on other boards, yelp, etc. to find an OBGYN.  

I'm not sold on her, she was *okay* during our m/c, but I wasn't blown away with her...I was annoyed with the office itself because it seems we have had to wait FOREVER everytime we go, and (of course) it seems like everyone else who comes in for other Dr.'s are seen right away.  Well, at my followup appt after my D&C she did a pap - and it came back showing some abnormal cells...so we scheduled a colpo for Dec.  Well, that got canceled b/c she had emergency surgery and we rescheduled for next week...Today I get a call that she has another surgery during my appt so we have to reschedule AGAIN. 

I'm annoyed and wondering if this is a sign to switch Dr, or if I'm just irritable today...and should stick with her - afterall, now she knows a little bit about our history of mc....AND I just want to get this colpo over with b/c I'm almost too scared to start trying again before we get the results...but, at this rate...

    Do you mind me asking who your dr. is?  I'm also from Chicago!  Do you go to Northwestern?

    I know it's hard to find someone you trust but I agree with PP you might want to look around!!

    Yes, we really want to deliver at Prentice! 

    I am currently going to Lakeshore OBGYN - which is at 680 N Lakeshore - and I see Dr. Larkin.  She is new to the practice, so I haven't gotten much feedback from others on her.  There is actually another office in the same building that a friend's sister goes to, so I thought about checking them out (or realizing I'm just irritated by having this drag out for almost 2 months!

    Where do you go?

    Personally I'd switch doctors.  Reschedule once..okay...but twice?  Come on?!  I know I wanted a more attentive doctor after my miscarriages and it doesn't sound like this office is going to be very attentive.  I foresee more frustration in your future. Switch. Your records can be forwarded!

    I'd switch if you're on the fence about it....there's nothing worse than going somewhere that you don't feel attended to. I switched this past month because my original doctor never listened, took me seriously, got me in, or answered my questions in a timely matter.  It  turned out they made a very serious (& heartbreaking) blunder and I found that out when I went somewhere else. Listen to you gut.

    I agree with this!  Remember, you are paying her.  If she's not a good employee, fire her.

    Thank you all so much for your comments!  It definitely makes me feel better to know I am not just being irritable...I think I will look around - b/c TWICE?  C'mon!

    I'd switch- you have a lot of choices of dr's in Chicago so why stick with someone you don't like.  I used to live in Chi so feel free to PM me for some recommendations.
