Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What bc do you plan on using....

After DS, we used the pull out method, we started TTC for #2 when he was 6 months old.  Now I'm going back on the pill.  We want to wait 2 years before TTC #3.

  • I got Mirena. I'm not sure if we want another LO but I'm so forgetful that I didn't want to go back on the pill and I didn't want to do anything permanent bc we may decide we want another baby.

  • We are thinking about Mirena. I do not want to go back on the Pill. I was on it for a really long time and when I cam off I could not believe how much better I felt. After that, I swore I would not take any pill again. (I had tried so many different kinds). We don't like condoms and I don't trust my cycle right away to chart again so we are thinking that Mirena will be the most fool proof.
  • I was going to start on the mini pill but I am still scared of it ruining my milk supply and DH is super excited to have another so we just decided to wing it and if we get pregnant before 10 months (when we planned to try for #2) we won't be upset or anything. I'd prefer for my son to be at least 6 months old before I get pregnant again though.
  • ill be going back on the pill if i ever get my period! ive been on it forever to regulate my wacky cycles. we also use condoms lol. overkill maybe. but i dont want to get pregnant until im definitely ready lol. plus, i tend to be forgetful with my pills.
  • I had Mirena between kids and it was great.

I had a tubal when DD was born.

  • I tried going in the mini-pill but it decreased my milk supply so I have stopped and we are just going to do condoms for a little while.  We will probably try for another in the next year or so.

  • I went on Micronor (mini-pill). My OB said some women's milk supply isn't affected by the regular pill but for those whose supply does go down, it's irreversible. I didn't want to take that chance.
  • I wanted to get Paragard but then decided against it since H is getting the big "V" in June.. there really isn't any need for me to get permanent BC because H is getting it done. I'll probably just go the pill route.. I was on Seasonale about 5-6 years ago before getting pg with DS 1 and I liked it, a lot actually, so I'll probably do the "new" version which is Seasonique.

  • Nothing hormonal until DS is done breastfeeding -- I really want to avoid any supply issues. Plus, I think my body has been through enough... I don't want to be experimenting with hormonal meds at the moment.

    I'll love you forever,
    I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

  • I chose the minipill. I've been on it for 3 weeks and so far, there's been no effect on my milk production. No side effects for me either!

  • Condoms...I've never been on any medication for birth control and don't care to start.

  • We don't plan on using any method.  It took a lot for us to have DD (finally conceived via IVF) so we're not putting the goalie back in.  If I get pregnant on my own, it'll be fantastic.
