Intersting conversation w/GYN

This morning was my annual exam.  I told her my libido is non-existant and has been for at least the past 9 months if not more.  She told me that is completely normal when BFing.  She said your body goes into a sort of menopausal state when BFing - it's all about the hormones.  I just stopped at the end of November - she said it will take a few months to kick back in gear.

She also said I need to wait a few months before I get my mammogram - they generally recommend to wait about 6 months after stopping BFing because the "squeezing" can sometimes still express milk.....good times...

  • A few months for it to kick back in?  How about six months and going?

  • Ugh!  That's just so unfair!  I was ready for action all the time before - more so than DH even.  Now I can't even be bothered.....and it's not about being tired or not attracted to DH.  LO sleeps 10-12 hour/night and I love cuddling with DH.  But just do not have any sex drive whatsoever....not even interested in "going solo", if you know what I mean.  Boo! Sad

  • It get's better I promise!  I was the same way while nursing.  I stopped in early October & I am just starting to get into things - yay for my husband.  Milk does take a really long time to dry up!

  • Hm!  That's interesting stuff!  I guess I have a long way to go before I feel the groove again, I still leak a bit.

Our hospital radiology department says 3 months...and sooner if you are high risk.
