First, I really like the name Peyton for a girl. Well actually I like Lorelai but DH isn't having it. So Peyton is something we both can agree on. Anyways, my mother's name is Karen and his mother's name is Kim. So, I had always thought that Kaye would be a perfect middle name, well when I was telling a few friends (who are btw perfectly capable of keeping it a secret lol) about the MN, the first thing they said was "What does the K stand for?" Because Kaye sounds like just the letter K. So, question is do you thing DD will be missing out on a cute, good MN with this type of reaction?? If so, do you have any different Ideas?
Second question, last name rhymes with Starling. So for a boy which do you think is better Owen Alan or Carter Alan?? I know Owen Alan is a little sing-songy, but it isn't that bad right?
TIA
Re: Two Questions (MN and which is better) Please Help :)
I like Kaye for a middle name and I think it is meaningful that it would honor both of your mothers.
For a boy I love the name Owen but i do think Owen Alan is a little sing-songy which I might not mind for a girl, but it doesn't sound very manly. Once he grows up though, he probably won't be using his first and middle name together that often except for paper work, so if you like it I think you're right - it isn't that bad. I think Carter Alan is very nice too.
1. I think Kaye is a perfectly fine and cute middle name. It's a great way to honor your mothers.
2. I don't like the same ending of "en/an" in Owen Alan, but I think Carter Alan is a great name.
I like Kaye a lot! I'd much prefer to have a significant middle name than a 'cute' mn that means nothing to anyone.
I prefer Owen to Carter, and I don't think Owen Alan 'Starling' is sing-songy (and sing-songy isn't always bad. Rhymey is, but sing-songy isn't really).
My MIL's middle name was Kay before she dropped it and replaced it with her maiden name. I love the name and I think it's a wonderful day to honor your mothers.
I love Owen. Not a fan of Carter.
