Lately DS has been throwing toys at me in a playful manner, but it hurts when he whips these hard plastic toys at me. He has also been hitting me with an open hand, which also seems rather playful but I don't know why he has started doing this. This morning while he was nursing, he started hitting my chest and it was frustrating. Over the weekend, we ran into Wal Mart for a few things so I was carrying him and out of nowhere he started pulling my hair and forcefully hitting me in the face- I told DH to take him. He was not angry, so I don't know why he was doing it. I do ask him not to hit mommy/ throw toys at mommy. Anyone else's toddlers doing this? Is this normal behavior for this age?
Re: Does your toddler hit you/throw toys at you?
Yup. Noah tried to beat me in the face with his Fridge Farm this morning. He whipped that thing right at me. He thinks it's hilarious. Also, as soon as we got home from vacation on Sunday, he finds the long vacuum attachment and starts beating our cat. I took that away so he grabbed his shoe and tried to beat our cat with that instead. I don't get the fascination. We just have to grab his hand and take away his weapon and tell him that hurts people. Don't know what else to do, lol.

Kayden thinks it's funny to tourment our cats also. He loves running after them (Smokey, the poor fat cat mostly) with his vintage ball popper, either to make noise and scare them, or just use it like a bat. He throws other toys at them too. I really don't think he realizes it hurts (obviously, he is a 1 year old) but just to see the reaction- the cat runs when I do this..
He doesn't seem to do this to DH either, so it seems like it's a trend for the hitting and toy throwing tends to be towards mom only and it's boys doing this..
