DS doesn't really get finger foods

Is anyone's LO still like this? DS will  not eat anything off his tray.  He'll pick it up, examine it, squish it, etc. but it never makes it into his mouth (despite the fact that everything else he picks up somehow makes it in there...).

I've put it in his mouth first, and then on the tray and that doesn't work.  I've guided his hand to his mouth after he's already picked it up.  He smiles/laughs and it eventually makes its way in there, but then he won't do the same with the rest of the stuff on the tray.  Is there anything else I can do to encourage him to feed himself?  He takes purees like a champ and he'll eat table food if I stick it in his mouth, but he just won't do it himself.

    My DD was JUST like this until about 2 weeks ago and she decided she was going to pick up stuff herself and eat it.  Unfortunately now she is picky about what will go into her mouth! One day your LO will decide to do it but until then I really wouldn't worry it is probably just more of annoyance for you...believe me I know!

    Both my twins are the same way. I think they will just eventually do it on their own. Just keep trying.

    Liam gets mad if I don't feed him food on a spoon or pop it in his mouth.  I can put a bunch of puffs, or even something "easy" like a steamed baby carrot, and he might poke at it, but he gets upset easily.
