Oh hell no! We're going to try to keep DD up and she's 12, but she'll never make it. That girl loves her sleep. I can't imagine waking DS up. That would be a nightmare. I'm going to DVR it though.
the thought of my DD waking at midnight sends shivers down my spine. She would never go back to sleep.
I'll wish her a happy new year when she goes down and again when she wakes tomorrow. That's it.
DD will still be awake. She has been going to bed between 3:00 and 5:00 am for the past week. I do not know what is going on. However, that does mean we can go see the fireworks at 10:30. DD loves fireworks!
Um, no lol. DS would either be cranky and irritated, or he'd refuse to go back to sleep lol. I plan on heading to bed immediately upon the clock striking twelve.
Hellllllll no! But we did last year. His daddy wanted to give him kisses at midnight on his first new years, so we kept him in the living room in his swing with us until midnight, got him out, kissed him, took a few pictures, and went to bed.
Lmao! I was thinking the same thing. We normally go out...this is the first year that we're not...if I'm not out and about....I'll be laid out sleeping in bed by 10pm...lol!
No way!! We canceled our plans because she's sick (but even if she were healthy we wouldn't dare wake her!) so we're just staying in. There's no guarantee that DH or I will even be awake at midnight We will probably go in and give her a kiss (we usually check on her), but she would have no interest in watching the ball drop and she'd be very unhappy to be awake.
Last year she actually woke up right after midnight, so it was kind of neat to see her right after her very first New Year's.
But no -- waking her up would be insane. I'd never get her back to sleep. Even if she wakes up on her own, she's not leaving her room, or we'd never get her back down.
Hmm...wake my 20mo old who has no concept of time, not to ,mention the "New Year" at midnight, thereby disrupting his deepest sleep time, to watch TV? Um. No.
Not a chance in Hades. I was going to let DS stay up, but he was acting wild and crazy, so he earned himself an early bed time. DD would never go back down if I woke her up. I'll probably sneak into each of their room's and give them a kiss before I go to bed though.
This is just selfish on your DH's part...your DD is what, 18 months old? It's just rude and inconsiderate to wake a kid up for something like this. Ours is sound asleep and staying that way.
At this age, he doesn't care - heck, I don't even care - and would just be pissed that we woke him up. Honestly, even in the future if he was in bed already I wouldn't get him up, though I might let him stay up to watch if he wanted to.
Contemplating the snow.

This. I don't care much for NYE so it's not a big deal for DD to be awake for it.
Uh no! And our neighbors better not even think of setting off fireworks like they did last year, and wake him up.
LOL. That's hilarious. LOL111!!!!!!1!!
Nope.
umm.... Why?
