house buying = dizzy head!

Yesterday we signed all the papers and took a cashiers cheque over to the title company. We'll have the keys in a week!

Now we knew houses were pricey here, but I never thought we'd 'write' a cheque out for more than our house sold for. Seriously that is insane. 

We didn't get a list of utility companies to call and change the service over to, is that common? 

it's crazy how quickly we got here!

    Congrats on the new home!  I assume utilities are PG&E for gas and electric and whatever the local county/city office for trash/water is.

    This, unless you are in Sacramento then you electric would be SMUD.

    PG&E is for gas/electricity

    Recology is about to be our new waste management company begining in Jan. Right now it's Allied Waste, but you probably want to establish w/ Recology.

    Mid-peninsula water district is who you call for water

    We use Comcast for cable/internet

    We don't have a traditional phone line, so no help there.
