Eco-Friendly Family

So, who has new year's plans?

and what are they?  :)

Us - nothing official yet.  There is some confusion over whether I'm hosting an open house/drop in type of thing or whether a friend is... so...  We'll see!  It's also DH's birthday!

Re: So, who has new year's plans?

  • my plans involve pajamas, sparkling cider, and lots of appetizers.  i'm looking for an easy cheese fondue recipe to try for dinner b/c i think Noah would get a kick out of dipping and it would be something fun and fancy.

  • DH is working so it will be girls' night here.  We're going to bake ... something.  And order Chinese.  We'll probably also play 538195810 rounds of Candy Land because that's all S wants to do these days. lol

  • We're doing a family-friendly, early, heavy-appetizers and wine thing at a friend's house. I'm rather looking forward to it (and hoping I will be able to get DS to sleep in their pack n play so we can hang out longer).
  • We are attending "noon year's eve" at an outdoor shopping center here...carousal rides, face painting, music, and a countdown at noon.

As for grown-up New Year's, we haven't gone out in years.  Every year we went out, we always ended up home early (reasons varying from the dating years-getting a drunk friend kicked out of the bar home to the married years-being pregnant and hormonal), so we finally gave in to the fact that we are just happier at home.

  • We always just go out to eat and then come home and relax.  Last year C fell asleep watching the festivities on tv, sitting up, cup in hand lol

  • We're going to a friends house for a party. Normally we just hang out the 2 of us.
    Mom to:
Miles (6 year old Maine C00n mix), Boots (5 year old Lab mix), Darla (4 year old GSD/Collie mix), Frankie (1.5 year old DSH mix), Peanut (15 months old - 09/11), and Bean (arriving Feb 2013).
  • No major plans here! I'm thinking chicken parm for dinner. Kids to bed early and then a movie and/or games for DH and I until midnight accompanied by some champagne. Looking forward to it though!

  • Well, I might actually be awake to see the new year (for reasons that don't involve a child waking up) for the first time in years.  DS's home daycare is hosting a party and sleepover that night so DH and I will be childless.  We'll get take-out pizza and champagne and probably watch a movie or 2.  I'm excited!
