Trying to Get Pregnant

Housekeeping poll: Clicky

I thought about this poll last night when I was putting the sheets back on the bed. I'd like to know what the "norm" is. DH says I wash them too often. Apparently his mother rarely washed their sheets when he was growing up. It was one of the responsibilities that I had as a child. And, I love nothing more than clean, fresh sheets![Poll]

I know!!  My problem is I'm always so lazy, I hate taking the sheets off and the pillow cases and especially hate putting them all back on the bed haha.

  • Great poll! I love fresh sheets. Our dog sleeps in bed with us so I wash or change them really often. Plus DH is stinky! LOL
  • I was JUST thinking about this this morning, and even pondered posting a poll about it.

    Cue creepy Twilight Zone music...

Thanks girlie! You are right! I love to climb in bed and smell the detergent and fabric softener! Hope you have a great day and Happy 2011!

  • I do ours every week or every other week.  The whole bed bug infestation has me a little paranoid.  Plus I just love climbing into a fresh clean bed.

  • When I was single I only washed them once a month or so.  But my husband is a hothouse (ie prone to sweating), plus the whole being sexually active thing, so after the first few weeks of living together with him I switched to weekly washing.

  • Interesting poll.  I don't know what the housekeeper does to my sheets but they are wonderful when she washes them and when I do them they are not as comfortable.  She uses my detergent and softener and uses my washer dryer so I have no clue what she does.  I wanted to fire her many times but then when I crawl into bed all is forgiven.

Ditto to the dog and to the stinky DH! DH sweats a lot and has oily skin. So, sheet washing is a necessity!

  • We shower at night, and we both wear PJ's so I only wash them every 3-4 weeks. Since we're TTC we've been having sex in different rooms and places around the house to keep it interesting so I think the bed sheets are staying a little cleaner than usual!

  • This is going to sound gross, but...  I always put off washing the sheets, not because I hate doing laundry, but because I love the sleepy man smell and need it to fall asleep.  In fact, I always sleep poorly the first few nights after washing them, so I have to make sure to wash on a Friday or Saturday.  That said, I still wash them at least once a month, sometimes more if one of us was sick or if we have lots of under-the-covers sex.

  • We have a waterbed and the sheets are a PITA to put on. Also DH is strange and has a wierd system.

    1. Matress topper, this one is mine

    2. fitted sheet

    3. blanket, this is the strange one from DH, I hate it

    4. top sheet

    5. comforter

    6. blanket on top of me because I can't sleep in PJ's since he has the blanket on level 3. So  get cold.

It sucks! I too love cleen sheets so our system is that I wash them he has to put them back on the bed. LOL
